Message from the Board
With the launch of our new website, the Board first wishes to thank our community for its past and ongoing support of our efforts to help the most vulnerable in the Whittier area. Your donations over the years have allowed us to operate the Cold Weather Shelter and, in recent years, to fund emergency lodging for homeless families with children. More importantly, you have always responded to our requests to help prepare and serve meals during the Cold Weather Shelter. Over 900 volunteers helped us prepare meals during the last shelter period.

We are pleased that the City of Whittier has now opened the permanent Navigation Center. It does provide comfort to us, knowing that the many guests that we now consider to be our friends will have year-round access to shelter and other services.
The Navigation Center is for adults only, so we have shifted our service to aiding unhoused families with young children. We help them with emergency shelter and direct them to services for more permanent housing. We also provide financial assistance as needed.
